Is it time for the Broncos management to start getting irritated?
The Gateway Gang is 3-12 heading into tonight's series finale against Amarillo at Veterans Field.
It boasts a 6.19 team ERA and has compiled 35 errors in 15 games.
There are problems everywhere. The offense is far from clutch, never coming through when the team needs it most. You'll get a solo shot here or a RBI double trailing 6-1 in the ninth, but that you hit they desperately need with two on and one out? Nowhere to be found.
The defense has been horrible. Hustle has been lazy. Team sources have said some of that can be attributed to Luis Ugueto, who arrived late and showed up out of shape, and Rafael Ozuna, who refuses to pursue hard and run hard.
The pitching has been so-so, particularly the starting pitching. Tano Tijerina has been solid. Gregorio Martinez has been excellent. Ryan Harris has underachieved.
The bullpen has been costly.
Yes, this Broncos team should be better than 3-12. The talent on this team says that the club should be battling for first place.
But where have we heard that before? For the last two years, it's been the same thing with the Broncos: an underachieving club that boasts more style than substance.
The only glaring positive is that this team really, really likes each other and enjoys each other's company.
That's nice, and it says a lot about the character assembled.
But if the Broncos are hoping this season is the one that puts them in concrete favor of leasing the new ballpark to be built in the near future, they have to turn things around quickly.
Attendance has been up considerably this year, and that isn't the greatest thing for the team. All that means is more people are seeing an underachieving product that has lost 12 of 15 games.

It is good to see someone calling like it is. It looks like to me that the Laredo talent on the team has helped attendance. That is not enough they have to play consistently good baseball and win. Any team with the name Laredo needs to win. I'll be their tonight and see what is going on.
