Broncos vs. Colts

I'm live here at Veterans Field, where the Broncos are to host the San Angelo Colts in 30 minutes.

Tano Tijerina, former Nixon great and Latin Sports Hall of Famer, is slated to start for the Broncos.

Laredo enters the game 0-4. San Angelo is 3-1.

Selwyn Langaigne and Luis Ugueto, figured to be two significant players for the Broncos, are still not here. Ugueto is expected Wednesday and is slated to be in the lineup then.

Langaigne's situation is cloudy and the team still has no clue when he'll arrive. All General Manager Jose Melendez said is that more will be known Wednesday.

As for the team's winless start, Melendez had this to say:

"We didn’t expect that start, especially considering the type of team we put together. The bullpen is our only concern. The defense is shaky, but when you keep throwing ball after ball after ball, that doesn’t help."

The Broncos addressed some of their bullpen issues by adding Edgar Soto and Carlos Alvarez to the roster. The two had missed the last few weeks due to visa issues.

They also added reliever Julio Pinto.

To make room, the Broncos released Ricky Ledesma, David Triplett and Trevor Reves.
