Game 2 coming up

Game 2 between Broncos-Colts is approximately 20 minutes away.

This one's a big one for Laredo. It's a series they cannot afford to drop if they intend to qualify for the ULB postseason once the first half of their season ends in 12 games.

The Broncos (17-16)  sit a game and a half behind the Colts (19-15) for second place. San Angelo has won five of the first seven meetings against Laredo this season.

Newcomer right-hander Richard Bartlett is starting one the mound, and he'll have a tough task to get the Broncos in the direction of taking 2 of the 3 games.

Bartlett, who has yet to pitch this season, will be facing off against Billy McKinney, who is 0-1 with a 8.10 ERA in two appearances.

Out of the lineup tonight are Edgard Clemente and Arnoldo Ponce.

Clemente has a bum shoulder and will be evaluated on Friday. He is expected to miss, at least, this series.

Ponce reportedly has a quad injury suffered last night. His timetable for return is unknown.

In lighter news, outfielder Dwayne White is currently on a 22-game hitting streak.

Lineup for Laredo:

CF Steven Wright

LF Anthony Bennett

DH Dwayne White

C Luany Sanchez

RF Santiago Guerrero

1B Ben Tinius

3B Ivan Reyes

2B Matt Lawman

SS Eric Padilla
