Edinburg hammers Broncos, 16-3

If the Broncos' first-half playoff hopes aren't completely fallen by now, they're teetering on the edge.

The Broncos fell, 16-3, to Edinburg tonight.

Richard Bartlett (1-1) lasted 1.1 innings, surrendering 13 runs (11 earned) on nine hits. He walked four and struck out two.

The Coyotes led 13-0 before the Broncos finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning on Edgard Clemente's RBI single and Matt Lawman's groundout RBI.

Eric Padilla hit a solo home run in the fifth to complete the scoring for the Broncos.

Laredo scored three runs on five hits and committed two errors. Edinburg scored 16 runs on 13 hits while committing two errors.

Eric Montoya (4-2) earned the win for Laredo, pitching a complete game.

The Broncos now sit at 20-21 and have lost two straight to porous Edinburg, which now sits at 16-24.

Game 3 is slated for tonight in Edinburg at 7:05 p.m. The Broncos will finish their six-game road trip with a three-game stand in Alexandria starting Thursday.
