Pre-game for Coyotes vs. Broncos, Game 2

Well, nothing is on the line so it's possible the Broncos might win tonight.

The good news for Bronco fans is that I spent a half-hour with manager Dan Shwam earlier today discussing the team for my season wrap-up story that will come out on Saturday.

It has a lot of good stuff so I'm sure you'll want to tune in.

The Broncos traded pitchers Gregorio Martinez (6-5, 4.17 ERA) and Maximo de la Cruz (0-0, 2.84) to St. George of the Golden League today.

The contracts of four Broncos have been bought out by teams in higher leagues within the last three days, another example of how much talent was on this team.

Anyway, as far as news, that would cover it, though GM Jose Melendez said more is likely coming tomorrow.

As far as tonight's game................

The Broncos enter the game 11 games under .500 at 37-48.

They've lost four in a row.

The Coyotes are 41-40 and have won eight in a row, the best streak in the league.

Right-hander Mickey Callaway (1-1, 2.77 ERA) is starting tonight. It's his second start of the season. The five-year major leaguer confirmed earlier today that he is looking to get back to Korea and not the majors.

His opponent will be Miguel Martinez (7-4, 5.16).

Here's tonight's lineup:

CF   Sean Gamble
RF   Anthony Bennett
1B   Matt Imwalle
2B   Ivan Reyes
LF   Dwayne White
SS   Arnoldo Ponce
DH   Johnny Lopez
3B   Ben Tinius
C     Nick Enciso
