New stadium put on the November ballot

Stage 1 is done for the Broncos' quest for a new stadium.

The stadium is on the November ballot. Now it will be up to city of Laredo voters on whether a new stadium is approved.

The big deal about the whole situation is that the voters won't be asked to raise taxes. And should the stadium not be approved, you can pretty much put the clamps on pro baseball ever coming back to Laredo.

There's only so long any team can prosper at Veterans Field, and the sports industry isn't dumb, it knows what works -- think arena football is coming back anytime soon?

LAREDO, WE DON'T NEED TO CONTEMPLATE THIS ONE. WE ARE ALREADY BEING TAXED..THE MONEY IS SITTING THERE. LAREDO IS A BIG CITY, STUCK IN SMALL TOWN NOTIONS. WE NEED TO SPREAD OUR WINGS AND TAKE RISKS. A BASEBALL STADIUM IS A GOOD RISK TO TAKE. OUR MAYOR MAY HAVE DISCOURAGED PEOPLE WITH HIS STATEMENTS, BUT DO NOT ALLOW SOMEONE TO THINK FOR YOU. A STADIUM CAN BE FRUITFUL IF WE HAVE THE RIGHT PEOPLE WORKING IT. I AM SURE WE HAVE PLENTY QUALIFIED & OPTIMISTIC PEOPLE WHO CAN RUN THIS ESTABLISHMENT. WE CAN HOST OFF SEASON CAMP FOR MLB, HAVE OUTDOOR CONCERTS, FESTIVALS, & MANY OTHER FUNCTIONS. THE LAREDO BRONCOS IS A GOOD BASEBALL TEAM AND CAN BE A GREAT BASEBALL TEAM. IT IS LIKE EVERYTHING, OUR SURROUNDINGS HAVE A HUGE IMPACT ON OUR PERFORMANCE. THIS IS TRUE FOR EVERYTHING. SO, I ASK LAREDO TO VOTE 'YES' TO THE BASEBALL STADIUM...HOPEFUL, ANGEL
