Given a spot start, Edgar Soto, normally a late inning reliever, struggled in his new temporary role on Thursday.
He lasted just four batters, surrendering three walks and a single.
He gave up four runs as the WhiteWings are ahead 4-1 into the 2nd inning.
Jason Herman is in now and did not fare too much better, allowing two hits, one of which was a two-run single, though both runs were credited to Soto.
The Broncos got a run in their frame as Luis Ugueto scored on an error with two outs.
