Pre-game for Broncos vs. Aces, Game 2

Game 2 for Broncos (29-31) vs. Aces (37-23) is 30 minutes away.

Ace right-hander Santo Hernandez (6-3, 3.09 ERA) is on the mound for Laredo. His opponent is Ramon Portillo (5-2, 4.98).

It's official: the Broncos activated infielder Johnny Lopez and pitcher Mickey Callaway. 

Reliever Nathan Crawford (0-2, 8.87 ERA, 1 save in 18 appearances) was released. Another release is upcoming.

Prior to his wrist injury, Lopez was hitting .391 (9-for-23) with four runs scored, two RBIs and one home run in seven games.

Lopez is in the lineup tonight, batting in the No. 8 spot. 

Callaway is ready out of the bullpen if needed.

Also, in former Bronco news, slugger Jose Salas was released from the Ottawa Rapids a few days ago. 

The Broncos traded him to Ottawa on June 11 for cash considerations. Salas reportedly contacted Broncos GM Jose Melendez sometime afterward his release.

The Broncos are looking for a power hitter. Hmmmmmm....
