Twice, he allowed hitters to reach a full count, and he threw eight balls in the inning. Needless to say, he escaped those counts unharmed.
In regard to Hernandez, Melendez and I were talking about the ace last night. Melendez noted that major league scouts have a lot of interest in Hernandez as a reliever, since he only boasts a fastball and a slider.
Think about how good those two pitches must be if he blows away teams at ease with them.
