Broncos clobber Dillas 10-4

Over 7,500 people attended Monday's contest between Amarillo and Laredo, helped by the appearance of the Famous Chicken.

But it was the Broncos who stole the show.

The Broncos won their sixth game in their last seven contests by claiming a 10-4 win in Amarillo.

Andy Schon (6-2) got the win, throwing 6.2 innings and allowing four runs on eight hits. He has won his last three starts.

Rusty Jones picked up his third save of the season by pitching scoreless eighth and ninth innings.

Edgard Clemente, ailing hamstring and all, drilled his ninth homer of the season on a three-run blast in the eighth inning.

Taylor Allen (4-5) got the loss for Amarillo.

The Broncos scored 10 runs on 15 hits and committed one error. The Dillas scored four runs on eight hits and committed one error.

The Broncos are now 28-25 while the Dillas are still in first place at 31-22.

The two teams will conclude their three-game series tonight in Amarillo.
