4-0 Laredo

Still 4-0 Broncos heading into the bottom of the 4th.

The Coyotes have left four baserunners stranded.

Donlin has pitched a fine game and seems poised out there. He's showing good command and is making good pitches.

Fast, faster, fastest

The Coyotes go down 1-2-3 in the 3rd.

I've never seen two teams just go through the motions...until today.

Zero y zero

After 2 innings, it's 0-0. The only good news is the broncos got their first two baserunners on board due to consecutive walks by Matt Lawman and Ivan Reyes.

Sweet Sanchez, what a play!

The Coyotes get three hits in the 2nd, but a gorgeous tag out at home by Luany Sanchez ends the inning.

It's the second consecutive game that the Dwayne White-to-Luany Sanchez duo gets a runner trying to score. White's laser arm and Sanchez's girth and know-how are no match for runners who try and get smart.

0-0 into the bottom of the inning.

0-0

Broncos go down 1-2-3. It's pretty apparent everyone wants to get out of here, and it's possible that we reach five innings before 8 p.m. (OK, not really, but I'm sure they'll try).

There's actually been pretty good fielding for such poor field conditions. Maybe the Broncos should water their field between innings every night.

The rain keeps comin'

It's starting to drizzle harder out here. 0-0 after the top half of the 1st as Donlin allowed just a walk.

Pre-game for Broncos vs. Coyotes, Round 3

It's a muddy, rainy day here at Veterans Field but baseball will still be played...so far.

The teams are out throwing and umpires are on the phone talking to weather officials.

But, assuming there is a game, here's what you need to know.

The Broncos enter tonight's game at 23-24, three games ahead of Edinburg (20-27) for the fourth and final ULB playoff spot.

Lefty Sean Donlin (1-2, 3.93 ERA) is on the mound for Laredo. For Edinburg, Carlos Jan (1-0, 1.69) is on the mound.

Tonight's lineup for the Broncos:

CF   Steven Wright
SS   Arnoldo Ponce
RF   Dwayne White
C    Luany Sanchez
3B   Ben Tinius
DH   Matt Lawman
1B   Ivan Reyes
2B   Eric Padilla
LF   Anthony Bennett

Edgard Clemente, due to his poor hamstring and poor field conditions being an unfitting duo, will be held out of tonight's game.

There will also be no promotions to make the game go as quickly as possible. There is also no national anthem

The goal is to atleast get to five innings -- that way it's an official game -- tonight.

We shall see.

In related news, I strongly recommend the hamburger basket. It's really good. Seriously.
